Just some pictures!

Not much to say today, Mommy is tired but has to share some new pictures!

Bath time!  Daddy really wanted to give us a REAL bath, so bath in the sink it was!  Mommy was a little scared so next time it will be in our whale tub :)

Lily loves the swing!  I wasn't able to figure out how to adjust the straps late last night so she was a little scrunched, but she HAD to have it on fast in order to be happy!  My girls are loving adventure already!

At least someone is getting sleep around here!  Both girls love the Boppy pillow.  So much that Daddy had to run out to the store today after work and buy a second one.  Both girls will nap in the pillow and seem cozy.  We won't use them at night but I wish they could sleep half as well in their pack and plays as they do in the Boppys!

Time to try out the cribs!  The girls instigate what C calls "Baby Fight Club" at night.  When one wakes, she playfully punches the other until they are both awake.  We are going to start nap time in the cribs, separately, so they learn to sleep without each other.

I know these aren't the best pictures, but yes, babies are in their respective cribs.

Mommy trying to get pictures of us in our own beds :)

Time to break out the accessories!

Grace (left) fell asleep in the crib right away.  Lily was my muse for the photo taking and is clearly sending me a message.  Stop taking pictures of us Mom!  Little does she know Mommy is just starting to scratch the surface of baby accessories.  One of my servers made these beautiful headbands for the girls.  I have also fallen in love with these:

These are kind of Hawkeye colors, right?  I told C I will regret not getting a picture of them in this type of bloomer set, so of course I've already emailed the maker to see what color combinations she can make for us!  But the grey and yellow is kinda growing on me :)  Don't get me started on the full romper sets I want for their professional photos!

Now I will just have to decide what color combinations when the time comes :)

Today we had a doctors appointment to check the girls weight and growth.  Lily weighed in at 6lbs 13 oz and Lily weighed in at 5lbs 13 oz.  (They are both ALMOST in the 5th percentile!)  The doctor answered many of our questions (including if the babies waking up every 2 hours is normal!) and it seems like we're doing a lot of things right.  Lily is out of preemie diapers and they both are out of preemie clothing now.  She also jinxed us by saying that she has never seen a set of twins develop colic, which means our two will probably challenge this :)

While the doctor was examining Grace I pointed out how her belly seems swollen.  After an external exam, the doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to make sure her stomach was alright.  I took her up to the room.  It was the strangest thing, walking around the Dupage Medical building with a baby swaddled in a blanket.  I got lots of stares!  As the ultrasound technician was taking images, I remembered how I do not miss the over 15 ultrasounds I had during pregnancy.  She took about 30 minutes, and over 70 images of my baby Grace.  I started to get nervous and at one point had to sit down I was making myself sick.  Well the good news is that everything looks awesome, including her stomach, kidneys, and bladder.  Our doctor assured us she does not have any tumors.  (I did not even think it could have been something so serious.)  In our journey God has been watching over us with all of my pregnancy complications.  From 5 weeks on, we've had many scares and I thought once the babies were born the scares were over, now I see they are just beginning.  Looking at my little baby having those ultrasounds taken and praying she was in good health it is crazy how overwhelmed one person can be with love.

But as I said, everything looks great, she just gets a swollen belly probably from gas.  The doctor did not even want us to change her formula to sensitive, she said they both are doing great!

Speaking of overwhelming love, when I came downstairs from taking a shower today this is what I saw :)
Well the girls are asleep, C is asleep, and it's time for me to catch up on The Bachelor (if I don't fall asleep myself first!)  But I just wanted to share the news of their growth!

Due Date!

Today is January 24th, our due date!  Can't believe the girls are already 3 weeks old!  We have a check up on Wednesday (oh wait, that is tomorrow.  It's hard to remember what day it is!) to check weights and development so far.  Here are a few pictures C took of the girls:

Happy 3 Week Birthday (tomorrow!)

Wow where is the time going?  I can't believe the girls are 3 weeks old!  Also, Tuesday, the 24th, is my original due date.  Crazy!  So what's going on over at the Mamo household?
Daddy is back to work.  He starts at either 4:30 or 6 am, so the help at the late night feedings has dwindled a little bit out of necessity for him to get sleep before work.  He is still trying to take over one complete feeding so that Mommy can get a 3 to 4 hour stretch of sleep in.  But sometimes the girls have other ideas and both wake up crying at the same time and we're both up!
Mommy is feeling better and has lost her pregnancy weight.  However, as BTDT (been there done that) Moms know, my pre-pregnancy clothes are not quite fitting yet :)  I know it's only been a few weeks and am being realistic here, I'll give it one more week.  Just kidding!  I did treat myself to a new shirt from Ann Taylor Loft, my favorite pre-pregnancy shop.  I deserve something new after all!  And I got my push present watch sized so now I can show it off!
The girls must think they are still in the womb!  They have a sort of twin speak between them, especially at night.  Grace sounds like she is laughing all of the time (early giggles!) and her sister will coo right back at her.  It's the strangest thing at night to hear all of these sounds coming from the pack and play!  One of us will get up to peek to make sure they are OK, and see them both asleep making noises at each other!  It also doesn't matter how we lay them down, they will turn themselves so that they are facing each other and that they are right up face to face.  It's so cute, until one of them starts waking up and "punching" her sister in the face!
Lily is going to be our wild child.  She makes it known where she is, and especially when she is hungry.  Grace is very relaxed and will fuss a little bit, but doesn't really cry at all.  We've learned to feed Lily first and then Grace.  One night I picked up Grace first, and it was all down hill from there!
Speaking of noises, these two little girls have the loudest "toots" ever!  How such a big noise comes from such a small little thing I'll never know!
The girls are eating about 2.5 oz every feeding, and feeding about every 2 to 3 hours.  Some nights are great and we will feed one and then wake the other and they will both go right back to sleep.  Other nights, well let's just say we've learned to wake the second twin after the first one is done.
We go back to the pediatrician on Wednesday and I am anxious to hear their weights.  I know Lily is getting bigger, and both sets of Grandparents agree that our little Grace is getting bigger too.  I hope she will be fitting into size Newborns clothes soon before her sister grows out of them!  We have such cute matching outfits and now I"m nervous they won't be in the same size for long!
Well, I hear someone is stirring that's about all of the time they'll give Mama for updating the blog.  Here is a picture from Friday when Grandpa and Grandma came to babysit for a few hours so Mommy could get in a much needed nap.  Thursday night, someone was up at least every hour, if not half!  Thank God for help from both Grandpas and Grandmas and Mt. Dew to help Mommy through the day!
Daddy took some great pictures last week which I will post when he coverts them to a file type that blogger will support!
Grace in a 0-3 month sleeper sack.  Um... it's going to be a while!

Grandma and Grandpa came over to babysit while Mommy took a nap.  I come downstairs and both girls are being spoiled :)

Who says Grandpa doesn't hold babies till they are 3 months old? :)

Happy 2 week Birthday girls!  Grace had a follow up appointment this weekend for her hip.  Due to being feet first, the Nicu nurse recommended a follow up for her since after birth the pediatrician thought she heard a hip click.  Great news is there are no issues our little baby has beautiful hips so far :)  Also she passed her follow up hearing test!  Mommy and Daddy are relieved!  I just can't believe it's been two weeks already!

A Picture or Two...

Here is a picture of C and I on New Year's Day.  Little did I know that less than 12 hours after this picture was taken we'd be admitted into L&D and meeting our girls the next day!
Warning:  Bragging Mom Photo Bomb ahead!

Baby Lily is here!  Getting her phoot print!

I was scared to hold the babies and my doctor made me.  Less than flattering picture but SO glad I have it!

First family photo in the OR.  You won't see a picture of me like this again :)

In the OR before heading off to the Nicu for a short visit.

Aunt Jeni came to visit that night and brought the girls these beautiful outfits with "Welcome to the World!" on the bibs!

Grace next to C's Jimmy John's Sandwich!

Grace and Grandma Kay

Getting babies dressed for the ride home.  Swimming in the newborn outfits.

Leaving our room and going home, aka reality.  Mommy had to escort the girls out of L&D in her arms.  How would a mom of triplets do this?!?

Home sweet home.  NOW WHAT? :)

This is pretty much how they spend 16 hours a day.

Flowers from Grandma Kay and Grandpa George

Ducky arrangement from Aunt Jeni and Mikey

My Push Present from my wonderful husband.  He may have had a hint, or 5!

Our real presents :)
